Tips, Tricks, and Helpful Hints:
- Supported image file types that you can include on your site:
- JPEG
- PNG
- GIF
- Please do not, under any circumstances, upload .tif, vector, or illustrator files to this area.
- ”PX” refers to pixels, a unit of measurement for the length and width of your images. You can resize images by pixel using photo editing programs such as Adobe Photoshop.
- If your site is two column: Images should never exceed 700px in width within the asset manager.
- If your site is three column: Images should never exceed 520px in width within the asset manager.
- Always resize images by 1px in the asset manager to help save space!
- It is recommended to set borders, when needed, to no more than 1 or 2px in width.
- We suggest setting hspace (horizonal space) to 7 – 10 and vspace (vertical space) no more than 5 for images.
- If the advanced field options within the ‘advanced tab’ are not familiar to you, please leave these fields blank.
- The ‘Advisory Title’ field within the advanced tab is equivalent to a ‘Image Title’ field and is very helpful for SEO purposes to fill out. Include a short sentence or keywords about what this image is within that field.
- Seeing a red X where you should be seeing an image?
- Verify that the image has not been accidentally deleted from your asset manager.
- Verify the image is saved in “RGB” (web format) format. Images that are saved as “CMYK” (printing format) may not upload or display properly. You can verify this using image editing software, such as Adobe Photoshop.
- Image not uploading properly?
- Verify it is a supported file type, as detailed above.
- Make sure that there are no Question Marks, Quotation Marks, or other special characters in the file name. These can cause errors in the system when trying to display an image.
