This tutorial walks you through adding/editing documents, available for download to your visitors, within the editor of basic pages.
For information on adding basic text, images, and hyperlinking within the editor see:
Tips, Tricks, and Helpful Hints:
- Target tab should always be set to ‘new window’ for all documents.
- Supported/Suggested document file types to include on your site:
- .doc
- .xdoc
- .xlsx
- .txt
- If the advanced field options within the ‘advanced tab’ are not familiar to you, please leave these fields blank.
- The ‘Advisory Title’ field within the advanced tab is equivalent to a ‘Document Link Title’ field and is very helpful for SEO purposes to fill out. Include a short sentence or keywords about what this document is within that field.
Here is how to attach a file:
- Go to the page where you wish to add the document link, and click to Edit the page
- Type the text you wish to become the link
- Highlight the text that should be linked, then click the “Link” icon

- Change “Link Type” to “URL”, then click Browse Server

- From the “File Browser” that appears, click “Upload” and select and upload the file from your computer. It will then appear as an option in the “File Browser Window”

- Click the file name you wish to insert, then click “Insert File”

- Click “OK” on the Link window
- Your highlighted text is now a link to the file you selected.
